Priority One is the economic development organisation for Tauranga City and the Western Bay of Plenty.

Established by the business community in 2001, we are jointly funded by business membership and local councils. We pride ourselves in being strongly connected with the business community, which is demonstrated by their ongoing support of our initiatives.

The region's rapid growth and thriving economy provide a stimulating environment for leading-edge companies, meaning real career and investment opportunities abound!

The business community is full of entrepreneurial spirit and drive, excelling in horticulture, boatbuilding, information technology, marine services, transport and distribution, manufacturing, engineering, fisheries, acquaculture, health professional services and food processing. Home to New Zealand's largest port, the region also attracts many niche manufacturers who concentrate on export markets.

When you decide it's time to come home, we would like you to consider returning to the Bay of Plenty. There are lots of opportunities for expatriate Kiwi's who are passionate about their careers, but want the lifestyle benefits many other cities cannot offer. If you dream of returning home one day, we can provide free assistance to help you every step of the way to make your dream a reality!

About
For Kiwis who haven't been home for a while, many probably wouldn't recognise the Bay of Plenty.  No longer just a holiday destination, strong population growth over the last few years has Tauranga positioned to be the third largest city outside Auckland by 2013.

Priority One has established the Back in the Bay website to connect Kiwi expats considering a move home with career opportunities and other important contacts in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty.  The free service provides regular updates on what's happening in the Bay, as well as enabling connections to be made with potential employers, and with the types of services expats require when moving home.

Priority One encourages expats who want to build their connection with the region to register on the "Connect Here" page, save Back in the Bay to their web browser and forward the url for the site to other Kiwi expats.
